MobiCart

MobiCart

The world of mobile ecommerce is certain to be one of the faster moving retail spaces over the next few years. So when an application comes along that can put your store into the hands of milions of smartphone users without costing you a bean, it’s time to sit up and pay attention.

MobiCart is about as straightforward an application as you can imagine. Wizard-style, it runs you through the process of setting up, customising and stocking a store before giving you the option of submitting it to Apple either directly from MobiCart or by doing it yourself.

The only problem is that as you ‘design’ your store there is not visual feedback, except when you choose your own base colour-scheme. As an upgrade this shouldn’t be too hard to fix, since all we’re talking about is dropping a logo or two into a place and changing content for your products. And indeed, such a thing is on its way

Verdict Mobicart is an interesting proposition. It’s almost too easy to use – to the point where there may be a rash of clone shopping applications appearing in the App Store soon.
